Customer Rating: Summary: bosch 3915 miter saw Comment: well built. Accompanying blade is good quality but can be better if you need superior cuts. way above though compared to a ryobi or BD saws I've used. Pricey but worth it. Need extensions.
Customer Rating: Summary: Check for damage on UPS delivery. Comment: You won't go wrong buying this saw. It's "best of breed". The only complaint I have is that the OEM packaging wasn't designed for UPS handling. The original packaging might be adequate for stacking 10 of these on a pallet and shipping LTL to the Amazon warehouse but the packaging isn't sturdy enough for UPS "care". I didn't notice the handle on my saw was broken until well after delivery. Since I could buy the new part for $50, I replaced it without whining to Amazon or UPS. Like whining would have done any good anyway. Unfortunately, on disassembly another piece had to be replaced and the total repair was now $75. Inspect yours carefully for damage on receiving it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Creature of habit Comment: I've been using this saw since 1995. I have been a carpenter and woodworker for 24 years now and primarily interior trim and cabinetry for 17 of those years. I have used this saw for framing and exterior trim and it did well at each task. I like it because of it's simplicity..not a lot of gadgets and moving parts to fail. I just purchased another one of these saws to stay in my shop so i won't have to haul the other one off the job everytime i need it. I looked at a few other brands and have used other brands...and I always come back to this saw. I love it. I'm the first to admit..it is not perfect. No saw is..It has the power to do everything i ask of it and it does it well. I have never found a saw that makes perfect cuts anyway..in my world there are no perfect corners or angles to work with...so it's about being able to make a perfect fit..no saw will make the fit for you. This saw will cut some sweet joints if you have in you to fit it..Get a blade..enough about the factory blades..buy a blade for any saw you purchase..a QUALITY blade!
Bottom line..GREAT SAW..That's my 2 cents
Customer Rating: Summary: Great sliding compound miter saw for the money Comment: I have had my Bosch 3915 sliding compound saw for over four years and it has served me well in all applications. At the time I purchased it, laser cutting guide lights were not all that common on saws in this price range. Since then I added an after market "Infiniter" RS-1 laser cutting guide from Rockler ($20.00) and I now feel that the Bosch 3915 competes with the best of them. The factory provided 60 tooth blade gives clean cuts with no tear out. It also came with a 40 tooth blade as well. Though its bulk and weight can stand on its own, I have it screw mounted into a recessed work table for added stability and convenience.
This is truly a quality product.
Customer Rating: Summary: A well built saw Comment: Bosch has always been on my top ten list of manufacturers to buy. I needed a sliding compound miter real bad and didn't want to pay the standard $400-750 for one. I've looked at and used many of the brands that are currently on the market. Bosch's 10" slider is comfortable to use and isn't as heavy as I thought it would be. It is exceptionally quiet and the sliding motion is very smooth. All of the adjustments are relativly easy to make. The saw is ergonomic and affortable.
