Customer Rating: Summary: I might buy another one Comment: I think this measuring tape is better that the name band ones I have.
Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome! Great tape for a great price. Comment: Great measuring tape at a great price. That sums it all up. I had looked at several different measures, and wanted one that had both metric and imperial. Tougher to find (for a reasonable price) that you would think. This one had it, though, and was fairly priced.
Plus, the feel if good and solid, not like a lot of cheaper ones that are sold. Good quality product. Glad I bought this one.
Customer Rating: Summary: Best tape measure I've ever owned Comment: As a homeowner remodeler who's done in the past 3 years a kitchen remodel down to the studs, half bath addition, and now a master bathroom renovation, this tape measure is a dream for those detailed oriented workers.
*Easy to Read markings. I really liked the easy-to-read graduated markings for the 1/16's measurements. I found taking more detailed measurements much easier over several Stanley tape measures I've owned over the years.
*Sliding Tail. (or whatever its called). Also I learned that it's got a unique sliding tail on the end of the tape. Doing a normal read, like measure a tile where you can hook the end on an edge, it slides out to get a "true length". On other readings, like measuring the width from the wall to the nearest tile where the tail isn't hooked on anything but butted-up against the wall, the tail slid-in to account for the depth of the tail itself. I used to manually adjust my measurements for this on other tape measures.
*Durability. I've dropped it several times from a 6ft ladder on concrete and it hasn't shown any sort of damage.
*Erasable pad. When I ordered this I thought it was a nice gimmick I'd never use. But....I found myself using it constantly once I got used to it being there.
The only con I found is the belt clip is a little flimsy. I've stopped using that and instead put it in the pouch on my tool belt.
It's just a tape measure but it's made a big impression on me. I bought two of them and would buy more of them. I highly recommend them to anyone!
Customer Rating: Summary: serious tape measure! Comment: I needed a metric measuring tape for an archaeology project, so I bought the LaserJamb.
I love it for several reasons: Firstly, the thumb tape-holder is a great feature. Secondly, I use pencils a lot, and having a sharpener built into this one saves me from having to search for a tiny sharpener in my tool bag. Thirdly, I love that the metric side of the tape is in millimeters.
What may be considered a downside in some circumstances is that it's kind of heavy. For me, this doesn't matter too much. Someone else mentioned that the clip doesn't work very well - I would tend to agree. I tried clipping it to the outside of my tool bag, since it takes up space, and it fell off twice. I gave up because I don't want to end up losing it.
Also, although I like that the metric tape is in millimeters, this confuses some of my co-workers if they borrow mine for a quick measurement. They look at it, and complain that they "can't read it."
(They are all really used to centimeters, and reading 200,40(mm) rather than 24 (cm) throws then off a little bit.) Now, this doesn't affect me at all; as I mentioned, it's one of the things I like about it. But if you are really attached to centimeters, you might want to think twice.
The writing pad thing is kind of useless to me, I have no reason to use it except maybe to write my name on it.
All in all, though, I really like this tape measure.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great Tape Mesure Comment: LaserJamb PMS25 Pad Metric Standard Tape
This a gret tape measure. I live in a fairly big city and looked all over town for a measure that read millimeters, some places have the ones that read centimeters, which works, but all my drawings at work are in mm, and it's just easier to look at it and not have to convert. I also like the little note thing. Thanks for helping me out!!!
