Summary: SK 25-250 IN/LB TORQUE WRENCH
Comment: I purchased two SK torque wrenches. The model that torques from 10 to 100 foot pounds and the model that torques from 25 to 250 inch pounds.
Both torque wrenches appeared to be of high quality and had easy to read sae/metric scales. I tried the foot pound wrench out on an aluminum banjo bolt that called for a torque of 18 foot pounds. I set the wrench for an initial torque of the bolt at 14 foot pounds in order to torque it in two steps. To my surprise the aluminum banjo bolt snapped in half without and warning or indication that the wrench had reached the 14 foot pound setting let alone the higher 18 foot pound setting. The aluminum banjo bolt was brand new so I doubt it was defective although there is always that possibility. The aluminum banjo bolts sell for about $15.00 a piece, so I was not going to take a chance on breaking another one. I returned both wrenches. In the advertisement for the wrenches they were advertised as having a lifetime warranty but when I recieved them the literature stated that the wrenches only had a one year warranty. Amazon did refund my money in full including shipping for the two wrenches.

Summary: Very nice tool! Cheap!
Comment: The other review is right the tool is only warranted for one year, stated clearly on SK's web site.

But... it is a very nice tool for the money. The tool is meant to be used in inch pounds, it is hard to set in NM because the amounts are not in whole numbers. Easier to just convert and set.

The wrench has a very noticeable "release" you cannot miss it even at the lowest setting. You can support both ends of the wrench with your hands without disturbing the measurement so it is good for very small parts like bicycle brake nuts. It is the perfect tool for bicycle assembly, it will tighten everything except the bottom bracket cups which are outside of its range.

Good case and finish. Nice tool!

Summary: False Advertising...
Comment: I owned an SK torque wrench about 15 years ago that was stolen. I remembered it being of good quality so, when it came time to purchase another, I looked again to SK. The quality of this wrench, while adequate, does not seem to be as good as my previous wrench. I would call it a step above, say, a Craftsman or Matco product but not nearly as nice as a Snap-on or Stahlwille product. The real issue, however, is in the description Amazon provides for this tool. It states the manufacturer provides a lifetime warranty for this tool not once, but twice. It was this warranty that was the dealmaker for me. I was surprised then to find that the warranty is, in fact, a 90-day/1-year limited warranty. Had I known this before the purchase, I most likely would have made a different choice. So be forewarned... while the tool works as advertised, you are not getting everything the description says you are!
