Summary: this actually works quite well
Comment: Sometimes, I have to drive 400 nails, so I power up the 70 gallon compressor and connect all the hoses. I can fire multiple nails in a second, as it recovers very quickly. But, most of the time, I only need to drive ~20 nails, and I don't feel like dragging cords out to the shed. Especially not in August. So I use the Palmgren! It can only drive one nail every 2 seconds or so, but it does a perfect job, and it's quiet and cordless. For most of the jobs I do, this is the perfect compressor.

I took it to a jobsite last week and got mobbed! Jesus. Palmgren needs to make more of these; I don't want to get mugged for mine.

Summary: Good for small projects
Comment: I used this portable compressor this weekend. Quality is good, minimal wieght and you can't beat the price. I used it with my finish nailer as well as to shoot 1 9/16 staples in a arbor that was falling apart. The unit recharged quickly but came on after every shot. I tried 3 shots with the stapler in a row and it worked fine each time. I like this compressor better than the Jac Pac. I returned the Jac pac and got this and i am very happy.
This is prefect tool for small jobs around the house.

Summary: Great idea, less than great implementation
Comment: I ordered this through an Amazon seller and got a good price even though I had to pay shipping. Think they are clearing them out. Seems like a good value in that you get the compressor, 2 batterys and a charger. The quality of this item is good. After verification that it worked, I took it apart. Inside quality looks good as well. The real problem is that output pressure cannot be adjusted. It is 125 psi which exceeds max on some of my air tools. Took apart to see if could be adjusted. No, contains a non-adjustable pressure switch obviously set to 125 psi. I usually set my pressure to about 90 psi which is less than the max for all of my tools but enough for all jobs. So, I thought I could regulate output down to about 90. Bought a small regulator at local Harbor Freight (on sale for 3.99 w/ fittings, or you can pay $20 at Home Depot, no fittings. Refitted for my needs for a few extra dollars. Had to replace the pressure meter with one of my own since Harbor F one leaked. With no real air pressure storage, cannot tolerate ANY leaks or compressor runs all of the time and cannot reach pressure. Think it will work ok for limited use I have in mind as a homeowner not wishing to drag big compressor into home for one or two shots. But, this item would have been a better design if only output could be regulated down and maybe somewhat more air storage. Plenty of room in case for more air storage.

Summary: PERFECT FOR SMALL JOBS
Comment: Like many have stated, this product is perfect for a task in which you don't want to drag out the large compressor and fire it up. If you have something you need attached in the attic or crawl space you'd be glad you had this.

For me it fired about 60-70 2" brads before it needed recharging. It seems well built to me. The plastic housing is tough(no cracks after a few drops). The strap and attachemnts are good quality metal.

This is just a neat product, but it is not for large jobs. I would deduct 1 star because there is no case but the discounted price makes up for that.

Summary: Palmgren 92101 Hipshot
Comment: The unit came with two rechargable 12v batteries and a auto-stop charger. A 6-8' coiled air hose with quick connects is included. A shoulder strap is provided for the 6.6 lbs compressor.

Both batteries were "empty" when shipped. The first battery took less than one hour to fully charge. I attached my DeVilbiss brad nailer to the compressor and started it up. It took 10 seconds to go from 0-120 PSI. It is surprisingly quiet. No louder than my ROS.

I loaded a strip of 100 18ga 1" brads. I nailed a piece of fir molding to a piece of 3/4" Birch Plywood. I shot as fast as I could, moving the nailer slightly between shots. I did not wait the two seconds recommended. I shot all 100 in a matter of minutes. Only six of the brads did not fully seat. At least some of those could be chalked up to my bad technique. When I waited the two seconds they all seated perfectly.

This works a lot better than I had hoped. It's just what I had in mind

Editorial Reviews:

Cordless air compressor for air nailer or staplers (not for use with any other type of tool) Supplied with 2 batteries. Shoots 150 to 200 nails or staples per battery charge, depending on the length or gauge. Light weight and portable, take it anywhere you go. We recommend our SF5049 air staler/nailer.
