Summary: so-so table saw
Comment: I bought this saw for the belt drive feature. I wanted to try a belt driven table saw, and although I find this feature helps with noise and blade vibration, the rest of the saw's design leaves me disappointed. First off, all these other guys that complain about the fence and miter guage being sloppy are absolutely right. Even at full adjustment, the fence will easily lock in at 1/4 " out of square. Also, every peice of hardware on this saw just feels cheap. From the blade depth adjustment knob to the lockdown screws to even the on/off switch, each component simply feels like just another made in China cheap part. I am a fan of JET industrial equipment; this saw however is just borderline acceptable. I will not brag about owning this saw, and if my wife wasn't pushing me to install a hardwood floor in our house, I would DEFINATELY send it back and get a Bosch for double the price of the JET. I have used the Bosch and it is definately twice as nice.

Summary: Nice saw
Comment: I purchased this saw a little bit ago after seeing it on sale here for around $215 and have had good luck with it. As usual, shipping was quick and everything arrived as it should.
PROS: Performance is way above what you would expect for a saw of this price.
CONS: The fence will lock down in slight misalignment; there is no way to lock the hight of the blade (such as for cutting accurate dados); the extensions are not quite aligned.
SET UP and ASSEMBLY: Set up was fairly easy. The 45 and 90 degree tilt stops, splitter alignment, and fence scale were all a bit off, but easy to adjust. The instructions were easy to understand.
OPERATION: The saw is smooth and relatively quiet--a step above other similarly priced table saws. I'm still using the original blade, but will upgrade it eventually.
I've built a custom stand and out-feed table that has really increased this saw's utility. I also have created a series of jigs and, with careful setup before each cut, have dramatically increased the saw's accuracy and overcome much of the fence deficiency. I'm still working to devise a way around not being able to lock the blade hight, but am confident there is a simple way around this problem.
CONCLUSION: If you are looking for an inexpensive table saw and are willing to put in a little extra work into setting up each cut and building jigs, this is your saw.

Comment: This is a good saw. It is very similar to the Makita and Hitachi saws that the guys I work with have had for years (and probably paid more for) - same type of rip fence, dimensions, quality, etc. Ignore the reviews that say the fence is bad, it's fine. No, it's not the great wall of China, but it locks just fine. I'd have no reservations recommending the Jet to any weekend diy or professional carpenter.

Comment: I purchased the Jet 708315BTC JBTS-10BT-3 10" saw after reading several reviews provided by Amazon. There were concerns expressed about the quality of the fence and the miter gauge, but I felt these could be reckoned with. I was not at home when the saw arrived, so I had no opportunity to inspect the package nor its contents. The shipping box was severely damaged and was an indication of damaged goods inside. The outfeed rest was bent beyond repair and the back plastic panel on the saw was fractured. Amazon generously offered a refund sufficient to replace these parts as an option to returning the saw to them. The saw's operation is another thing. The fence binds against the work and kickback has been a real problem. I cannot seem to get the fence properly aligned. The gap between the saw table and the blade access opening is too large and small pieces easily fall into the crack. The saw table appears to be too thin to accommodate a shop made zero clearance replacement. The miter gauge is not at all accurate and I will use it only for rough cutting. The saw also vibrates excessively and the blade has obvious significant runout. The blade was very inferior and I also replaced it. I purchased this saw to do some second floor work in some new construction I am doing and thought it would be easy to carry upstairs, which it is. However, the thing frightens me. I have two larger tablesaws (a contractor's saw and a large cabinet saw) and neither of these gives me the willies like this small Jet does. If I were in the market for a small tablesaw again I'd try a few out before purchasing one and I don't believe I'd purchase this particular Jet model unless there was absolutely no other option.
