Customer Rating: Summary: DON'T BUY FOR HOME IMPROVEMENT - GET THE Stanley/Bostitch CPACK1 INSTEAD Comment: Don't buy this for home improvement use! (which is how I made the mistake)
This is only good for stapling cloth to furniture and things like that.
If you only want to inflate tires and balls just get a little $20 pump with no bottles - it'll also take up less space.
It is made fine, but it's just too weak for any thing practical.
- There isn't enough CFM to hold even low pressures like 40 psi (eg a little air brush)
- The pump is REALLY weak and struggles after 40psi so recharge takes F O R E V E R when you need 40+ psi (eg nailing, bike tires etc).
I _really_ didn't want to spend more than $100 to put up $100 of crown moulding but I've had too... I returned this and I went to Lowe's and got the Stanley/Bostitch 2-in-1 ("CPACK1") - it's here on Amazon too. I would have got it here but I need it NOW. The Bostitch is a 6 gallon/2HP compressor with a 16 gauge (not 18gauge like this) 1-5/8" brad/staple gun combo. I feel better now. I am also confident that I could later buy a nailer (eg for 2-3inch nails) and the compressor would do a good job at keeping up with putting in a dozen nails while reframing a window etc.
here's a link to the Stanley/Bostitch combo:

AMAZON was fantastic processing a no-questions-asked return.
Customer Rating: Summary: GREAT LITTLE STARTER UNIT Comment: This is a great starter set up, the nail gun is awsome and I used it to put up bead board in my bathroom. I have also filled up tires on my bikes, 4 wheelers and cars with ease. The only thing that i wish was different was that the tanks were a little bigger. If I could go back I would buy the 4 lb unit rather then this one. If you are doing small jobs this one will take care of you, no problem.
Customer Rating: Summary: Incredibly LOUD! Comment: Bought this at Lowes because I was in a hurry for it. It is so incredibly loud you can feel your ears being damaged. Had to go outside while it charged up. Will return it and buy the Makita Mac 700.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very poor quality even for limited use Comment: Even given the low price, (I paid only $50 at Home Depot) I would not recommend this setup as it's just more trouble than it's worth. Looking at other somewhat similar tools I figured that a decent comparable compressor alone is usually about this much, as is a brad nailer (say Porter Cable) so for the occasional use I had in mind for it it will probably be fine which is supported by the reviews here being mostly not negative. Note that the particular kit I purchased is this one but was red, relabeled as a Husky brand by my local Home Depot. However the model and serial number, and all documentation inside is C/H, who had no quarrel with providing warranty service on it. My logic about this though broke down just like the gun - the whole kit just junk.
I purchased this unit with expectations that it would be of adequate quality for occasional light duty typical homeowner type jobs. Top off the bicycle or wheelbarrow or car tires occasionally, and so on. I already have a Hitachi twinstack, with framing and trim guns for anything remotely heavy duty - as I finally told a clerk at the box store (read on...), so I wouldn't expect to be building a house with a brad nailer. But visions of taking up two flights of stairs a lightweight little air source and brad nailer to tack up a few skylight's worth of trim for example instead made me figure it was worth it.
The brad nailer was junk on arrival. The first brad or staple would be driven into the material about halfway (after adjusting the air output to the optimum, else they would bend or jam in the gun), and the next four or five attempts would only mar the material surface and not fire a fastener at all. I complained to the Home Depot where I bought it and I was out of luck because they were all out as it was a promotional item. Thought I'd try a warranty repair then. First attempt by a pro air tool repair shop to repair it made it about half better. Maybe two halfway shots and three or four misfires. The second attempt resulted in a need for a part that isn't supplied by C/H. So they arranged for a factory rebuilt gun to be sent to me. Luckily the four week downtime isn't an impact as I don't do carpentry as a living.
The compressor is, as noted elsewhere, *very* loud even for an oiless unit and quite slow to fill. (Yesterday I used it in my insulated garage and my wife came out from inside the house to complain that she couldn't hear on the phone.) Once full it will do what I expected of it, barely. Truck (50/60 psi) or high performance bicycle tires are just painful though. It's primary reason for not being on Craigslist is it's small footprint when not being used and portability as above.
Customer Rating: Summary: Air compressor Comment: The air compressor I bought because of the brand name and I have used this brand before. However, the compressor did not work out of the box. The warranty service was quick and outstanding. I am satisfied with my purchase at this time.
