Summary: Pefect way to save electricty
Comment: I have to say this simple device is amazing. You plug your computer into the control outlet and plug everything else into the other outlets and when the PC is off, the monitor, speakers, mice, keyboard or whatever else you power with your computer turns off. Much easier than trying to figure out where to put a power strip so you can reach it.
The really helps with those energy vampires that seems to live under computer desks.
I'm saving about 50 watts of power by turning off my speakers when the PC isn't on. (The speakers didn't come with their own power switch.)

Comment: It works as it promised,First off when you use Control outlet make sure to
connect Device(Computer,Receiver,TV)that use at least use over 1 Amp or 100 Watts of power to work properly,otherwise it will not control any Device connected to Switch outlet..example if you connect Cable,Dvr,DVD Player in the Control outlet it will not work because those Device does not draw much Electricity to activate Switch Outlet.
Then the Design is sucks compare to Apc,Belkin,other products and Adjustment Nob is hard to adjust..u need a Philip Screw Driver,Coin etc
and it only has 2875 Total Joule protection as well as does not have AVR
(Aotomatic Voltage Regulator)...

Comment: while I have only used one smart strip so far, it works and there has been a savings seen in just one month of use...

Comment: I bought and returned two APC versions of this outlet, since their shutoff sensor could not be adjusted. The Smart Strip overcomes this with a potentiometer dial and simple instructions.
Note: The adjustment still does not work with very low amperage devices plugged into the master outlet (e.g., small cable box).
