Customer Rating: Summary: You're looking at a time bomb. Comment: I've been using this heater for a year and a few days ago I was so surprised to find the power plug is bent.
And I tested it letting it run for 10 minutes with a full throttle then the power plug got ridiculously hot and that caused the bent plug.
If I found this defect a few months later, I'd have a burnt house.
Customer Rating: Summary: Emergency heater during power failures Comment: These Honeywell heaters are very good for spot warmth but have a caveat: IF there is a power failure the electronic controls will NOT turn the heater on when power is restored. I recommend heaters with simple thermostats.....test is unplugging unit in operation and plugging it back in to see it in operation. Avoid using extension cords and make sure the electrical outlet is in good shape.
Customer Rating: Summary: Doesn't work! Comment: I plug it in. Touch the power button. It works about one time out of 5. I've had it too long to send it back. When it does turn on, it seems to measure temperature from the air that it's just heated, so it shuts itself off after about 90 seconds. In some rooms, that is... In other rooms, I've had it run for several hours at a time. It's so inconsistent. A heater should work when you turn it on, and stay on until you turn it off - or until the room reaches the desired temperature. This isn't rocket science! I spent almost $50 for this thing. It should work..... I've tried to contact Honeywell customer service, with no response. Glad to see I'm not alone in my misery....
Customer Rating: Summary: temperature sensor does not work in auto mode. Comment: temperature sensor does not work in auto mode as said in the other reviews. After turning on the heater in auto mode, the temperature displayed is probably of the front side of the heater. Hence it increases rapidly and the the heater turns off itself immediately. So you cannot use the heater in auto mode.
Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect for 3 Years Comment: I have owned several space heaters, but this HZ-341 has been great for 3 years. Instant heat, doesn't take up much space, and easy to direct the heat where you need it. I like it so well I'm buying a second unit to use in my basement office.
Excellent value!
