Summary: A Great Monitor
Comment: I purchased this Monitor a little over a month ago. I enjoy being able to monitor my energy usage so, naturally I was drawn to this Black & Decker unit. I was a little skeptical because I have some Black & Decker products that I am not too happy with. HOWEVER this one was a very pleasant surprise.
It came with clear instructions, installed on my meter easily, and most importantly it Works Perfectly.
I can easily recommend this unit.

Summary: Will this product work with your meter
Comment: I bought this product after looking at all of the information on this website and the Black & Decker website. All of the information, at the time, led me to believe that this monitor would work with my meter. But after I received the monitor I discovered my meter has a multiplier and that makes the monitor inaccurate. Please check with your Electric Company.

Summary: Black & Decker 100B Energy Saver
Comment: This following is in response to Charles Evans review of the Black & Decker 100B Energy Saver:
In AZ, the energy cost is $0.10 per 1000 watts used for an hour.
If on constantly for an hour, his air conditioning cost would be 30 cents and his kitchen lights would cost 2 cents. Mr Evans said that his air cost 0.20 cents. Dependent on tiering, his decimal point was too low by a factor of 100 to 150.
Several comments noted that length of use is a key factor in billing. This is "on the nose" correct.

Summary: Excellent product black and decker power monitor
Comment: I just installed myself a solar energy generator system and needed to determine what to hook up to it that would save me the most money. I read the instructions and installed it and I found it to be great. The instructions and the quality of this product are great. I soon learned how lights, tv's, microwaves, refrigerator and other items in my house were costing me an hour and monthly and was able to reach a decision what to hook up to it. Summary: Very Useful and Very Easy
Comment: When I first received this unit I was a bit intimidated. There is the primary unit for inside and then an attachment to your electric meter for outside. Without looking at the instructions it felt a bit daunting. Like many other reviewers I have an old spinning disk meter outside. The Black and Decker meter mount was installed without any issue using a flathead screw driver.
When reporting to the indoor unit the screen is updated every 30 seconds. The kilowatts used per hour estimate are given. You can then try unplugging or activating other devices to see if they make a difference. It is not automatic and does not provide any fancy reporting but it does do the job.
I did like this unit. For whole house monitoring it is a nice way to monitor usage. I would really like to have it be able to talk to my PC for instance and do more with the data.
